Weight Loss & Wellness
A Fresh Start for Health this Spring!
Spring is a time of renewal—longer days, fresh air, and the urge to declutter. But while many focus on cleaning their homes, our bodies often need a reset, too.
Every day, we’re exposed to environmental toxins, processed foods, and stressors that can overload our detox pathways. When the body struggles to eliminate these toxins efficiently, it can lead to fatigue, inflammation, digestive issues, and brain fog.
Signs the Body May Need a Detox
🔹 Persistent fatigue or sluggishness
🔹 Digestive discomfort, bloating, or irregularity
🔹 Skin issues or unexplained inflammation
🔹 Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
Toxin/Weight Paradox
Our body likes to “store” toxins in fat cells as protection. With toxins safe inside a fat cell it is less likely to wreak havoc throughout the body. When fat cells are being used to protect us from toxins, our body is much less likely to use those fat cells for energy – Making weight loss much more difficult.
On the flip side, losing weight / losing fat may result in an increase in freed toxins. Thus, “detoxing” and avoiding toxins all together becomes that much more important.
Toxins and Hormones
Many of the toxins we are exposed to are hormone disruptors. Thus, increased toxin exposure results in impeded endocrine functioning, as toxins bind to hormone receptors, altering their signaling and response.
Likewise, the same systems that the body uses to eliminate toxins from the body are used to clear hormones from the body. Therefore, if our detoxification systems are burdened by an accumulation of toxins, proper hormone metabolism will be impeded, which may contribute to hormonal imbalances and/or harmful metabolites. It is essential that everyone utilizing hormone therapies, including physiologic hormone restoration, performs a Push-Catch detox program at least twice per year to help ensure their hormone metabolism systems are not over burden from toxin exposure.
